'The five people you meet in Heaven'
10 October 2007 - 07:54
'All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little piecers, beyond repair.
...
Parents rarely let go of their children, so children let go of them. They move on. They move away. The moments that used to define them - a mother' approval, a father's nod - are covered by moments of their own accomplishments. It is not until much later, as the skin sags and the heart weakens, that children understand; their stories, and all their accomplishments, sit atop the stories of their mothers and fathers, stones upon sotnes, beneath the waters of their lives'
Adopted from the book The five people you meet in Heaven written by Mitch Albom

I attended my first Diploma Plus module last Friday. The module is called Interactive Web Design. And it is indeed INTERACTIVE. The focus of this module is not so much on web design like how the items are aligned, colours used and graphics displayed and so on. But to use JAVASCRIPT codes to create interesting effects that entice and interact with the user. I'll try to put up a few examples here next time.
All in all, I find this module a little tough for me because I'm very bad at codings but this module will help me to enhance my projects that require me to create websites. So I think I'll have fun learning it. Currently, I'm also taking another Diploma Plus module but I'll not write about that now.
Yesterday, was friends gathering day. We went vivo city to catch the movie Day watch. It is a Russian movie but with English subtitles. One thing that I find interesting about the subtitles is that they are animated. Unlike most shows that I watch, the subtitles just stay stagnant. Funny.
Anyways, I was kind of lost in the movie because I didn't catch the previous movie called Night watch. But I enjoyed the movie very much.
A very tiring yet fulfilling day indeed

I was thinking whether I should blog a story today. But I'm so exhausted that I can't take it anymore. My brain is malfunctioning and I can't seem to think of anything. At this point, I do not even know what I am typing.
Anyway, there was a meeting for the committee today. I'm very happy that most of the things for publication and events have been settled. And I can say that I'm very fortunate to have a wonderful and dedicated vice chair who never fails to bring laughter (HahaHA!) and always getting work done on time. A team of surprising pub people whose ideas have surpassed what I've expected and of course the events spontaneous people who have came out with exciting activities for the participants that day. In a nutshell, I can safely say that Night Expedition will be the GREATEST EVENT OF ALL TIMES. HAHAHAHA!
Back to the point. With all that, I thank you guys for all the effort you have put in and may we work hard for next week's registration.
For those who wishes to join SB Night Expedition 2007/08, the registration booth will be out next Tuesday, 9th Oct 2007 till Friday, 12th Oct 2007. The focus of this event? To scare the Hell out of you! Hehehe! Anyway, do look out for us and participate in this extraordinary event which can only be found in School of Business Club.
Can I still say anymore!? Just come and Register with us!

I had an awesome time yesterday. It was one of the most anticipating and exciting day for me. It has been ages since we last met. All we did yesterday was to eat, laugh and laugh even more. Haha =]. Of course, how can I miss out the exchanging of birthday presents for those birthdays who have passed. I've been waiting for them for centuries. Hope you guys love your gifts.
I did =]
Happy things, Worrying things
02 October 2007 - 00:48
Today was the day SB Amazing Race finally came to a spectacular ending after shedding so much sweat and blood. The event was a success and everyone is HAPPY. As an old saying goes, "If no one dies, the event is a success." As quoted by someone in school. Hehe =]
With all that coming to an end, we embark on a new journey that I promise to be filled with excitement and lots of laughters. Night Expedition is up on the list and I must say I'm very happy to see how enthusiastic the year ones are.
All of you started sharing your ideas and have so voluntarily took up the tasks assigned to you. I'm very honored to be working with you guys and have hence justified that my stay in SBC was indeed the right decision. Thanks to my vice chair, Lishi who has so voluntarily willing to call up the company for me. Don't worry if you see yourself not doing anything much. Night Expedition can be considered as a small scale event so don't worry too much OK =]
If you guys have any problems, do not hesitate to call your teddy bear cum 面包超人 (miang bao chao ren) head, me =] and your very humorous Hehehe Lishi =].
The next thing I should worry about is the approval of the proposal and the advancement from finance. I fear that everything would be delayed and handling of cash can be a big issue.
"How I've wished the planning could have started a bit earlier so that everything can flow with time."
From the bottom of my heart, I thank all you guys in SBC for wanting to make this event a success. Hope that everything goes well from here.
Reminder:
Posters to be sent to me and Lishi by this Wednesday, 5th Oct
T-shirt design, by 4th Oct (if possible) otherwise 5th Oct
Events update by 6th Oct
Don't forget about this coming Thursday's meeting, 6th Oct 2006, 5:15 pm
All the best =]
